Aubiose isn’t a standalone product, it’s part of a wider system.

Our h**p fibre is used in textiles, and a large share of the woody core goes into building materials like h**pcrete, where carbon is stored long-term. Aubiose comes from what’s left, meaning nothing goes to waste.

Because the crop absorbs CO₂ as it grows, and some of that carbon is locked away in other uses, our bedding can be considered carbon neutral, and in some cases even carbon negative- even with transport from our sunny French fields!

Alongside that, h**p typically requires fewer inputs than straw or shavings and leaves behind a more beneficial muck heap, making it a better fit for the land as well as the yard- it's fantastic to spread back on your fields.

Allen & Page - Fast Fibre Update

An 2nd batch number has been recalled. Please see details below.

Similarly to yesterday, Broomhall Feeds has not received or despatched any of the effected batches. Again it would be good practice to check any bags you have.

Info below is from Allen & Page

Due to an ingredient issue which has led to reports of a darker colour feed together with a sticky consistency, we are recalling Fast Fibre; batch no 14/01/26 / best before date 04/05/26 and batch no 15/01/26 / best before date 05/05/26 for the safety of your equines.

Product details
• Product name: Allen & Page Fast Fibre
• Pack size: 20kg
• Batch numbers affected: 14/01/26 and 15/01/26
• Best before dates: 04/05/26 and 05/05/26

What you should do
• Stop feeding the product
• Check your bag(s) for the batch code listed above
• Should you find you have an affected sack, dispose of it
• Keep the label as proof of purchase and present to your stockist for a full refund

While we conduct further tests, we have decided to recall these batches only, for the safety of your equines despite not all bags being affected.

Please be reassured that these Fast Fibre batches do not have any NOPS issues, are not a doping/clean sport issue, and are not toxic in any way.

We are advising customers NOT to feed Fast Fibre from these batches, as it may be out of specification and also for your additional reassurance. Customers should dispose of their bags only from these batches:
• 14/01/26 with a best before date of 04/05/26
• 15/01/26 with a best before date of 05/05/26
If you have tipped your bag into your feed bin and have not retained the label, and your bag(s) were purchased after the 16/01/26, please ensure you check the consistency and colour of your feed when soaked and if you have any concerns please do not feed.

If you have fed your horse and suspect that the Fast Fibre was from either of the above batches, and you have any concerns please contact us directly.

No other Allen & Page products or other batches of Fast Fibre are affected. If you are unsure if you have the affected batch, if you purchased your Fast Fibre before 16/01/26 your Fast Fibre is unaffected and good to feed.

We communicated this information to all stockists and customers at the earliest possible opportunity. We recognise that this may cause inconvenience and concern for horse owners, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation of those affected.

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆?

With the tricky weather conditions we had over the summer, many yards are now facing the very real possibility of forage being in short supply. If your forage stack isn’t looking as healthy as you’d like, partial forage replacers can make a huge difference.

They help you keep fibre levels up, support gut health and maintain a steady diet even when you’re stretching out your forage. Chaff-based partial replacers like Mollichaff Light Molasses Free, Mollichaff DailyFibre and Mollichaff Veteran are ideal for topping up or supplementing rations, making sure your horse still gets enough fibre without relying solely on traditional forage. 🌿💚

They’re easy to introduce and a practical way to help your forage supplies last longer.

If you want to see which options might suit your horse, the Partial Forage Replacer Bundle is a handy place to start; use the link below to purchase yours while stocks last. 📦🛒

On a positive note Broomhall Feeds has not had any of this batch. But worth checking labels regardless.

📢 Today’s announcement increasing the APR and BPR thresholds from £1m to £2.5m did not happen by accident.

💪 Credit where it’s due: rural Labour MPs who listened, and grassroots farm protest groups who refused to stay quiet, have clearly influenced the government to move. Pressure works — and this proves it.

‼️ But let’s be absolutely clear: this is not a solution.

Many businesses will still be ruined by this policy:

• Elderly farmers who have no time to restructure

• Terminally ill families forced to confront tax decisions in their final months

• Those who die young, with no chance to plan

• And farmers who simply happen to live in high-value land areas, where paper wealth does not equate to ability to pay this regressive tax.

A higher threshold doesn’t change the fundamental injustice. It just redraws the line of who gets hit next and a longer and slower decline for everyone.

It twists the knife watching the NFU now try to claim this as a “victory”, after backing away from the issue when farmers needed firm leadership. Farmers didn’t ask for spin — they asked for a fair, workable policy that protects food production and family farms. That still hasn’t been delivered.

This fight isn’t over.
The policy is still wrong.
And farmers will remember who stood firm — and who folded.
