🐣 A LITTLE HATCHING EGG UPDATE FROM PILLING POULTRY 🐣

We’ve had quite a few new followers recently, which is absolutely fantastic — welcome to Pilling Poultry! ❤️🐔

Please keep liking, following and sharing our page, and don’t forget to invite your friends to follow us too. Every share really does help our little business grow.

🥚 Hatching Egg Update

We’re getting enquiries almost daily about our hatching eggs, so we thought we’d give everyone a quick update.

At the moment, most of our chickens are going through their annual moult, which, as you can appreciate, can make fertility a little unreliable. Because we want to send out the best quality hatching eggs possible, we are planning to start properly again around February/March 2027 once the birds are back in full condition and fertility has improved.

🌍 Just like this year, we’ll be sending our hatching eggs across the UK, to the islands, throughout Europe and internationally.

It honestly amazes us just how far some of our eggs travel — Pilling Poultry chicks are being hatched all over the place! 🐣🌎

A massive thank you to every single person who follows, shares, recommends, visits and buys from us. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without your continued support.

❤️ Please like, follow and share Pilling Poultry for all our latest updates — and invite your friends to join us too!

🐔🌿 WHY USE WOODCHIP IN YOUR CHICKEN COOP & RUN? 🌿🐔

A good layer of quality woodchip can make a HUGE difference to keeping your chickens clean, comfortable and healthy — especially through our lovely British wet weather! ☔😂

✅ Helps keep the ground drier
✅ Reduces mud and standing water
✅ Gives your hens a cleaner area to scratch around in
✅ Helps absorb moisture and droppings
✅ Makes cleaning and maintenance much easier
✅ Helps reduce unpleasant smells
✅ Provides natural enrichment — chickens LOVE scratching and foraging through it
✅ Helps protect the ground from becoming completely churned up
✅ Great for runs, pens and high-traffic poultry areas
✅ Can help keep feet and feathers much cleaner

❌ WITHOUT A GOOD GROUND COVER…

Mud can quickly become a real problem, particularly during autumn and winter. Wet, heavily soiled ground is harder to keep hygienic, unpleasant for your hens and can make the whole chicken area much more difficult to manage.

A good deep layer of woodchip gives your birds a much cleaner, more natural surface while making life easier for you too!

🌳 We stock KILN-DRIED WOODCHIP at Pilling Poultry & Pilling Pet Shop 🌳

Perfect for chicken runs, coops and poultry pens.

Pop down and see us — we can also help with feed, bedding, Boost Mix, feeders, drinkers, coops and everything else you need to keep your chickens happy and healthy. 🐔❤️
