Most seaweed products start life as dried seaweed.
Ours doesn't.

Our kelp is harvested and processed within hours while it's still fresh.

Why?

Because we believe freshness matters.

The natural compounds that seaweed develops in the ocean are what make it so valuable to plants. The faster the processing between sea and bottle, the better.

It's taken months of harvesting, testing and refining.....and we're nearly ready to share the result.

Launching soon.

What would you use our Kelp Juice on?

With a brief respite in the heat this morning, the cogs in the noggin finally managed to start turning again...

Another heatwave. Another reminder that climate change isn't a future problem, it's already shaping the world around us.

When temperatures soar, it's easy to feel that the challenge is simply too big. But moments like these also remind me why so many people are dedicating their lives to building sustainable businesses.

Whether you're restoring habitats, developing cleaner technologies, improving food systems, reducing waste, generating renewable energy, or simply finding a better way of doing things, you matter.

No single business will solve climate change. But together, thousands of businesses making better decisions every day can create real, lasting change.

At BluGreens, we're proud to be playing our small part by farming kelp that helps remove Carbon Dioxide and nutrients from our coastal waters while creating regenerative products that support healthier soils and more resilient plants.

Progress won't come from waiting for one big solution. It will come from millions of small actions, backed by people who refuse to accept that "business as usual" is good enough.

So, to everyone building businesses with purpose: keep going. The work you're doing has never been more important.

What sustainable innovation are you working on, or what business inspires you to be more optimistic about the future?

And that's a wrap - seaweed farming 2026 complete.

Moorings back to their normal use.

Kelp stabilised and shortly available as Kelp Juice plant nutrition.

Many lessons learnt.

Looking forward to the future.

Kelp is wonderfully opportunistic. Give it a surface underwater and there's a good chance it'll find a way to grow on it.

Every season our farm becomes home to a surprising mix of wild seaweed species, all hitching a ride on our ropes, buoys and moorings.

The downside? When it's time to inspect shackles and connection points, you definitely need eagle eyes! 👀🌿

Think you know your seaweeds? See if you can identify the different kelp species hiding in this clip...

Day 1000 of hauling lines of kelp by hand. We are beginning to questioning a number of our life choices.

We refer to it as an innovative harvesting system that relies on the latest in renewable energy technology: human suffering.

The gym membership has been cancelled, the forearms are permanently cramping, and we've started referring to ibuprofen as a harvest aid.

The good news? The kelp is looking fantastic.

Bye bye kelp.

A portion of this year's harvest is heading to other innovative businesses who are using seaweed to create their own regenerative farming products.

From improving soil health and supporting beneficial microbes to helping crops become more resilient to stress, seaweed is proving to be a powerful natural tool for farmers looking to reduce reliance on synthetic inputs.

We're proud to be supplying sustainably farmed Plymouth-grown sugar kelp and helping build a growing network of businesses working towards healthier soils, cleaner seas, and more resilient food systems.

Because regenerative agriculture isn't about one product or one company—it's about creating better outcomes together.

Harvesting kelp rain or shine....and today was not shine.

We are 75% of the way through this year's harvest.

We process our kelp into Kelp Juice - a seaweed biostimulant that builds better soil and supports vigorous and healthy plants. Ready very soon.

David giving it his best traditional Italian wine-pressing impression — knees deep in kelp and fully committed to the craft.

After all, we’re not making wine.

We’re making Kelp Juice.

Notes of sea breeze, tractor fumes, and mild panic.

Quick clip from today’s land-based harvesting setup.

Working from the slipway meant we could haul and process our way through 600m of grow line — a big step up for our little operation.

The final numbers aren’t in yet, but we’re hoping today’s harvest came in at over 2.5 tonnes, which would be a new BluGreens record.

We’re now around 75% through this season’s harvest… which means we’ll probably be finished just in time to start thinking about seeding next year’s kelp all over again.

Every season teaches us something new. Every harvest gets us one step closer to cleaner seas, regenerative products, and a better way of using our harbours.

Trying something different today.

Fulla Kelp is a mighty little boat, but 500kg on deck and she starts getting ideas about becoming a submarine.

So today’s experiment: tow 40m of kelp grow line to the nearest slipway, then use the trusty truck to haul it out of the water.

Low-tech, slightly chaotic, hopefully effective.
