+ Update - our opening hours are changing +
Thanks for all your support through August, if you've been in this week you'll have found we're open, we're restocking, and how happy we are to see you and your jars and bottles 🙌♻️🫙
So many indie businesses like ours are working their socks off trying to keep the doors open - we feel very privileged to have access to all the amazing food and events that only exist because someone took a chance to try something different. Maybe the end of 2025 can be the autumn of indie-Plymouth... we'll be sharing some of our favorites this week - please do the same 🥰
We posted last month to say we needed to make some changes at Jar to keep zero waste shopping available in Plymouth beyond the summer, and to start with this means a change to shop hours. From next week we will be open Tuesday to Saturday 10-4, and Sunday 11-4. We appreciate that limiting hours can make it harder to shop with us, but this will help keep us going for now and we really hope there's a time that suits 🌱 This will be our hours for September, please check back for updates. Google maps is always up to date with any closures.
Thanks for telling friends about Jar, helping spread the word by liking or sharing our posts, coming in and shopping with us and ordering online. We've seen a boost this month and new customers through the door who are becoming regulars 🙌 Thank you!
Jar exists to make environmentally sustainable, fairly produced food and everyday essentials available for people in Plymouth, as affordably as possible, to help build a more resilient local food system, and to reduce food waste and packaging waste. Jar is a social enterprise, and part of our ethos is to contribute to building a kinder, greener local economy. We are really proud of what we have achieved along with our brilliant team and customers: since we opened, our customers have refilled over 71 tonnes of food and household essentials with us, saving over 265,000 pieces of single use plastic packaging. We have supported many local makers & small indies over the years, and provided real living wage jobs.
There's so much more we want to do - thank you for your support ☀️
