Burger Friday guys,

Will have the single and doubles today, no hot pigs are the pork shoulders are tucked away on the smoker getting cooked.

Saturdays menu as well, as promised full
BBQ and the special which is the pork belly rib, these will be special and sure to fill you up, about 1/2lb of pork belly as a single rib!!!

Update for the wknd menu,

Friday night Burger night, will have the single and double smash burgers on from 5-8pm or sold out.

Saturday full BBQ, we will have the full lineup and yes sausage will be back and it will be my Italian N’duja spiced this week. Also new to the line up I’ll be trialling a small amount of pork belly ribs, imagine a whole strip of the burnt ends but attached to a bone as one serving.

This will be my last opening until the first England game as I’ll be taking the smoker up to twickenham for Fume festival, so I know the weather may look ropey but you can eat in the pub or under the sheltered areas in the beer garden so please come support and sell us out, lets not let a little rain get in the way of some BBQ.

Will drop the full menus tomorrow evening.

Menu for the wknd,

Big Burger weekend double header Sat 12-3pm and then Sunday 5-9pm as the Plymouth Vanguard NFL team are playing and will want feeding but there will be plenty food so come along!!!!!

New burger joining us this weekend, on top of the brisket smash patty is a handful of pulled pork covered in Habanero hot honey, only a limited amount of them so when they’re gone they’re gone!!!!

That was a crazy last week,

Firstly I’d like to thank everyone who helped me celebrate my 40th Birthday this weekend, feel truly blessed to have such amazing family and friends and also customers who came out in their numbers to support me Saturday.

Sunday saw the end of my 23 yr RAF Career, I’ve had an amazing time, met some amazing people and been to some incredible places but now I will go full time into Captain’s BBQ. Once the food truck is ready in the next couple weeks that means I’ll be open more days with extra menu items.

The next chapter begins now, hopefully you will all continue to support the BBQ business as I continue to grow Captain’s BBQ in Plymouth at the Cherry tree.

This week I’m getting a few things in order, I have to get one of my warmers repaired and spend some time with the family before the truck arrives. I will be open Saturday lunchtime for a burger service and Sunday evening for a burger service.

Thanks for everyone who came out and had burgers, was great to see you all in the sunshine.

Menu for Saturday my 40th Bday below, full menu and it may be the last for a couple weeks but don’t worry there will still be burger days while I work on the van which is a couple weeks away.

You’ll notice a slight rib price increase, I’ve had to move suppliers and they charge a little more but they guarantee larger sizes. This increase allows me to keep them on the menu.

Specials,

We have confit beef cheek and if I can get done what I need tomorrow it may go into a different special so watch this space.

We have plenty of food so don’t worry, come early or come after opening we’ll try get you all fed in the glorious weather and support your local BBQ joint.

UPDATE, technician came out and salvaged half the warmer. Not ideal but it’s a fix for now.

Any of my locals an electrician? I need a power lead replacing on a piece of equipment, quick job.

Need it done ASAP if that’s possible today.

Reminder, this Thursday we have burgers and a small amount of Chopped brisket sandwiches 4 - 7pm at the Cherry Tree.

Saturday we will be back at the Cherry Tree from 11am, full menu and I might be working on a couple specials and it’s also my 40th Bday so come out and support and for any of my regulars if you want to celebrate with me I’ll be having a bash on Sunday, feel free to drop me a message for details.

Captain’s BBQ is looking for a Front of House Team Member to join us on event days and weekends!

This role would suit someone friendly, reliable, and hardworking — ideal for someone wanting to earn some extra cash and gain experience in the food industry.

🔥 Duties Include:
• Running the till
• Greeting customers
• Helping with setup & pack down
• Cleaning duties
• Assisting with food prep

🕒 Hours:
Currently mainly Saturdays (roughly 10am–4pm), with more hours becoming available once our food truck is fully up and running.

✅ Experience preferred but not essential
✅ Level 1 Food Hygiene preferred but not mandatory (we can help with this)
✅ Must be able to get themselves to and from work

We’re looking for someone with a good attitude, confidence around customers, and willingness to get stuck in.
