Tiny cherries, delicate daisies, gingham details and a design that feels wonderfully nostalgic — sweet, elegant and impossible not to smile at 🌼✨

Created for a special 9th birthday, this cake may look playful on the outside, but inside it hides one of my favourite flavour combinations ever 😍

🍫 Moist chocolate sponge
🤍 Belgian white chocolate mousse
🍒 Sour cherry mousse
🍒 Jewel-like sour cherry confit

The richness of white chocolate, the deep flavour of chocolate sponge and the bright tartness of sour cherries create the most beautiful balance in every bite.

A little bit vintage. A little bit whimsical. A whole lot delicious. 🫶

And those tiny cherries and daisies? Handmade one by one, because the smallest details are often the ones that make a cake unforgettable ❤️

This one was made to celebrate a lifetime.

Created for a wonderful father at the request of his loving daughter, this cake carries far more than sugar and sponge. It carries memories, family history and a deep love that spans generations.

The rugby ball and silver fern were chosen for a very special reason. Many years ago, his father played rugby for New Zealand's team during the First World War — a remarkable family story, passed down through the years and still remembered with pride today 🇳🇿🤍

As dementia gradually steals pieces of yesterday, families often hold tightly to the stories that matter most. The stories that remind us who we are, where we came from, and the people who helped shape our lives.

My hope is that this cake brought more than joy to a birthday celebration. That perhaps, for a few precious moments, it sparked conversation, stirred a treasured memory, or brought a familiar feeling back to the surface.

Because sometimes a cake isn't just dessert.

Sometimes it's a memory, lovingly recreated. 🤍
