Not every day goes the way you planned… ❤️

Last Sunday started with us setting up for what we hoped would be a great event. We had the food, the team and everything ready to go — but the turnout just wasn’t there.

By 5pm, we still had loads of food left.

We could’ve packed up and called it a bad day… but we decided to try something different.

We opened the shop, put the word out on our socials, started taking orders and delivering around the area. 🚗💨

And what started as a disappointing day slowly turned into something we were really proud of.

We got food out to our customers, shared plenty of smiles and fist bumps, and even brought people in off the street to enjoy some free food rather than letting it go to waste. ❤️

Sometimes things don’t go to plan.

But that doesn’t mean you give up.

Adapt. Keep going. Find another way.

A bad start doesn’t have to mean a bad ending. 🙌🏾

Big love to everyone who supported us last Sunday and along our journey. You genuinely helped turn the day around. ❤️‍🔥

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who got in touch about us offering delivery on Sunday, and to everyone who took the time to come down to the shop for some Sunday Soul Food! 🇯🇲

With the weather putting a few people off heading to the event, we found ourselves with more food than planned….. so we decided to spread a little extra Mikey’s love around the community instead. 🫶🏽

We gave away lots of food to passers-by and people within the local community, and honestly… it felt SO good!

This is exactly the kind of vibe we want Mikey’s to give off. We genuinely feel so much love and support from our community, and moments like Sunday remind us why we love doing what we do. 🇯🇲❤️

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, share what you have and turn it into something positive! 👊🏾

It was a VERY busy week last week with prep, catering and events, but we’re back TODAY with all your favourites, fully stocked and ready for another week of MIKEY’S!

Today we’re heading over to Frickley Football Grounds for an afternoon of live music, good vibes and raising money for the club! 💜⚽️

We just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Castleford Tigers for reaching out to Mikey’s Jamaican and inviting us to be part of such a brilliant event!

From getting our catering setup ready, serving the amazing supporters, meeting some of the Tigers players and experiencing the atmosphere inside the stadium — we genuinely had an incredible night. ❤️💛💙

It was a real privilege for a small local business like ours to be given the opportunity to be part of such a big occasion, and we’re extremely grateful to everyone at Castleford Tigers for putting their trust in us.
