Everyone keeps asking how Mikey’s coping with this weather… let’s just say being from Jamaica gives him a slight advantage 😉👀

The grills are on, the food is flowing and the vibes are still vibing 🇯🇲🙌🏽

This Friday we will be catering at the local Beer Festival at Grove Hall, South Kirkby, hosted by the brilliant Chin Chin Brewing 🍻🔥

🔎 Mikey’s Jamaican

A little trip down to Mikey’s Jamaican Café in South Elmsall saw us swapping Yorkshire puddings for jerk chicken

The jerk chicken was smoky, juicy and packed with flavour, especially when drowned in their honey jerk sauce. The oxtail was rich, tender and falling off the bone, while the plantain, festivals and saltfish fritters made for some proper tasty sides. But the surprise star of the show for me was the mac and cheese. Absolutely loaded with cheese, chunks of jerk chicken and just the right amount of spice.

If you’re after authentic Jamaican food without booking a flight to Kingston, this one’s well worth a look!

What a blessing it’s been to start this journey alongside my dad, Mikey.

Opening a new business was never going to be easy. Stepping into a completely new industry, taking risks, learning every day and building something from the ground up has had its challenges… but the love, support and encouragement we’ve received has been unreal.

Just 3 months into the Mikey’s journey and seeing the community get behind us, the smiles, the conversations, the friendships made — it’s honestly more than we could have asked for.

But we’re only just getting started… 🚀
We’re still in first gear, and there’s so much more to come from Mikey’s.

To every father out there — the ones still making memories, the ones who have passed on, and the ones who quietly do everything for their families — we see you and respect you ❤️
