Friends of Butchers Pool – 10th Anniversary Message

This year marks a special milestone: ten years since Friends of Butchers Pool took over the running of the paddling pool from RCT. We are extremely proud to have reached this anniversary, and it would not have been possible without the commitment, generosity, and goodwill of so many people.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us, whether through donations, time, or participation. In particular, we would like to acknowledge:

The public for their ongoing contributions to our collection bucket.

RCT (Shared Prosperity Grant), Dee Plant, Typsy Challenge, and the Ynysybwl & Coed Y Cwm Community Council for their generous financial donations.

Our dedicated lifeguards, who have worked tirelessly to maintain the high standards of safety and enjoyment expected at Butchers Pool.

The Vision Project for their fantastic events, which brought so much fun and excitement to the children who attended.

Most importantly, we must thank our volunteers. This year we had just five volunteers, and without their commitment, energy, and countless hours of unpaid work, the pool simply could not have opened. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Butchers Pool, and it is their efforts that keep this much-loved community facility alive.

Looking ahead, we urgently need more people to come forward and join our volunteer team. Without greater community involvement, the future of the pool is at risk. If we want to celebrate an eleventh anniversary—and one day a twentieth—we need your help.

Please consider giving a little of your time. Together, we can keep Butchers Pool open for many more years to come.
