Super little bees working the thistles to grab pollen or nectar for the growing brood in the hive.

The bees have been coping well with the heat and in the cooler parts of the day they can bee seen collecting water and navigating to their hive.

Sunshine at last and today was hive checking day. We keep records and monitor activity.

Bees create new queens as part of their natural cycle of reproduction.
This cell baffled me a little as it never hatched. Did they open it to check?

Granny has some wood work to do. Let’s get the tool kits out and put together super frames.
Great fun, hammer banging and he soon grasped the way they went together.
I drew the line at popping the wax in, figured the wax would not have survived well.
