Yesterday I lost an important member of my family, Peter, my father in law. I’m sharing this on my Downriver socials because not only was he was one the greatest men I’ve ever known, but he’s a huge part of the Downriver story and I want that to be known as just a small part of his immense legacy.
I always say that though Downriver is an owner operated business, I get a lot of help from family and friends and a huge part of that help has been from Peter. He supported me from this business just being an idea, to building the roastery, being an assistant when I recovered from surgery last year, and so so so many projects along the way. Even after his cancer diagnosis last spring, the charmer that he is, he’d chat up my coffee to ambulance drivers, paramedics, nurses, consultants, and fellow patients. That’s just the kind of person he was.
A lot of what Downriver is today exists because he showed up and helped when it mattered. And he deserves to always be part of this story ❤️
