Weather held to get the bales made dry

Usually 6-8 bales per acre off this field there was 13 bales per acre this year

Also pulled a few grazing fields for bales that will be used with the hay for the close up dry cows

First cut mowed and tedded due to be baled on Monday for the store cattle this winter

Two weeks later than last year and possibly twice the crop

And just over a hour to bring over 100 bales home with four machines and two men

One handler in the field loading,
I brought the full load half way to meet the empty trailer where we switched cab and dad emptied the trailer and met me on the road for the next load

The tree that caused a bit of a mess

It wasn’t lying there when we sowed the fertilizer at the end of march but storm Dave must’ve put it to bed at the start of April.

Roots up ended and lying in the middle of the drain causing a new path for the water right down the middle of the field

Which wasn’t hard to find when the mower entered

Job for the chain saws and a few logs for the stoves
