Hi everyone, just a little advance notice that the cake shop will be closed until 13th June.

The good news is that when we reopen, we’ll be back to our summer opening hours:
10am–8pm, Monday to Sunday.

Thank you so much for all your support, especially from the walkers, cyclists, villagers, and little cake hunters who stop by. It genuinely means a lot.

Take care and we’ll see you in June.

Well… it’s been one of those weeks.

Mixer broke, so I couldn’t bake at all. Got a new one, spent a full day catching up… then the oven decided it didn’t fancy working properly, so most of it ended up overbaked.

So yes, slightly on the back foot.

But — I’ve managed to get some cupcakes done:

Pistachio

Strawberry

And I’ve also got my wild dandelion syrup out to try.
I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do, but I’m now putting it on toast, yoghurt, even in tea.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter.

We took a little break over the holidays as we were here, there and everywhere, so the shop wasn’t open.

Back to normal now, although I’ll be keeping things to weekends for the time being.

On the menu this weekend:

– Carrot cake (no nuts, spiced buttercream)
– Golden syrup sponge
– Chocolate brownie
– Cherry cake

All freshly baked and ready if you’re passing by.
