FINAL BATCH OF THE YEAR 2026. Wow, it's hard to believe that we are approaching our last collection date for 2026. The final date is now set at Thursday 17th September 2026 from about 1pm.

It has been a fantastic year again for collections, but gone too quickly. May I thank all of the 'chicken fanciers' who visited from far and wide across the UK (some making 7-8 hour trips from the North of Scotland!). The last collection in August just 2 weeks ago was the busiest ever. Lots of familiar faces from the old Pear Tree Poultry days as well. I already know that one of PTP's previous regulars is coming across from the Isle of Man for the last September collection. Looking forward to meeting her again.

Yesterday (Thursday 13th August 2026) was the penultimate collection of hens from Pear Tree Poultry for 2026. The last collection date for 2026 will be mid-September, (actual date will be confirmed soon).
This was probably our busiest collection ever, with many poultry enthusiasts not just locally but also travelling great distances to collect their new hens, from places like Gosforth (Cumbria), Manchester, Glasgow, Timperley (Cheshire), Carlisle, Bradford, Liverpool, Gwynedd, Chester and Maud (Aberdeenshire).
There was one family who got off a plane from a holiday in Greece, a taxi to their home in Manchester, and then drove straight to Preston to collect the hens and then back to Manchester. That's some committment!
I would like to thank everyone who made the trip, and there was definitely a lot of happy children (and adults) as they saw their new hens for the first time.

Yesterday was the latest collection day at Pear Tree Poultry (nb no longer trading at Barton Grange site). Lots of happy customers picking up some new hens to add to or start their flock. These stunning quality hens can be pre-ordered from chickenstoyourdoor website and a collection date and time will be provided to pick up from my address in Preston, Lancashire.
