Tata grew up watching his Auntie run a beloved food cart on a busy Bangkok street, learning her flavours, her timing, her little shortcuts. He went on to train formally at a culinary college in Bangkok, mastering the art of Thai cooking and presentation.

After twelve years in Belgium and a first venture in the UK, he opened the restaurant he'd always dreamed of: Tata's Thai Kitchen. Every dish is built on his family recipes. 100% authentic, never compromised.

There's a lot of chatter at the moment about tipping and service charges in restaurants, whether they should be added automatically, and even talk of making them a set percentage.

So we wanted to be clear about where we stand. 🙏

At Tatas Thai Kitchen, we have never added a service charge to your bill. Not as a mandatory charge, not as an "optional" line you have to cross off. It simply isn't there.

We don't believe tipping should ever be something pushed onto our guests. If you've had a lovely meal and want to leave something for the team, that's always your choice and entirely up to you. Either way, you're just as welcome.

But we'd love to know what YOU think in the comments. 👇
