So pleased that we have two barn owl chicks.
Barn Owls and their nest sites, are afforded special protection under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Our friend Seumus holds a Schedule 1 Disturbance Permit for the purpose of Ringing and Nest Recording, which allows him to monitor the nests of these special birds.

We have three tawny owl chicks in the nest box which is sited in the wet woodlands . Our good friend Seumus,who is a licensed bird ringer, has fitted rings to the two larger chicks. It’s great news - especially since we had no tawny owl chicks last year
