Today at Village Greens, we have our vegetarian and vegan breakfast and lunch food and treats from the fine Michelin trained folk at Soothe Food! 😃💚🤤

From pasta to overnight oats, from pastries to cous cous, together we're bringing you even more tasty goodness at our deli counter! 👍

Big thanks to Carol's Cooked Meats Rawtenstall Market butchers, Rawtenstall Market 1906, for providing egg boxes to be reused! 💚

As you may have seen this morning, Village Greens received our supply of eggs but no boxes! 😭 Therefore, Daniel, one of our newly co-opted board members, whilst out in Rawtenstall at lunch time, quickly explained the situation to Carol and asked to buy some egg boxes. Carol graciously provided both plastic and cardboard boxes at no charge. 😊

Nipping down on The Burnley Bus Company's X43, Daniel delivered the egg boxes only to find that boxes arrived about half an hour before he did! 😄 Still, extra boxes are always welcome! 😊💚

As a token of our gratitude, Daniel bought some of our delicious vegan cakes and headed straight back on the next X43 heading to Rawtenstall to give Carol and her staff their sweet treats! 😋🍰🧁

Ultimately though, this is about not just supporting your local independent specialists - but supporting each other too! 👍 Being as sustainable and as ethical as we can, as well as providing our customers with the quality and value, the years of dedicated expertise, and that personable touch the big supermarkets just can't provide.

So whether you're in Rawtenstall, Prestwich, or anywhere else in the UK? Please do support your local independent shops and retailers with your grace and your custom! 😃

We are a co-operative which means we are owned by our members who each have a share in the business. Over 12 years ago, over 400 local people helped start Village Greens as an ethical alternative to large supermarkets.

We are now at over 600 members! Will you help us reach 1000 members?

💚 How does membership work? 🤔

Members invest a minimum of £100 and then have a share in Village Greens. They can vote on important decisions and have a say in the way the business is run. They also benefit from having a membership card which gives discounts on certain products.

As a member you are a co-owner and play an important part in the future of Village Greens. We value our members' input in all aspects of the business from feedback about how we are doing to practical help and involvement in events. You can be as involved as you like!
