A little bit of harvest… 🍇

…and a little bit of media attention! 🎥

Brilliant to be joined by BBC Essex this week as we got stuck in bringing in our Siegerrebe.

They came along to hear all about this year’s harvest in the Crouch Valley, including how the season and its weather have shaped the growing year, and, of course to see some grape picking in action.

It’s always great to see our local BBC team banging the drum for Essex wine and shining a light on what’s happening here in the Crouch Valley. 🙌

We also turned the day into something of a harvest ‘media day’, welcoming a fantastic group of wine experts, hosts and influencers, brought together by our brilliant brand ambassador Essexwineman.

And while all the chatting and interviewing was going on? We picked grapes! 🍇

Keep an ear (and possibly an eye) out for New Hall on BBC Essex - we’re hoping to be on radio, and perhaps television too, later today or tomorrow. We’ll share the links when we have them!

Our 18 new (to us!) French oak Burgundy barrels are now settled into their new home in the winery - and judging by these faces, and and team are pretty happy about it!

Every Saturday (11-5) we’re open and pouring; Essex wines by the glass, rotating flights, and the Cellar Door fully stocked and ready.

A very warm welcome to our new winery team member, the awesome Sophia Joubert! 🍇🍷

Sophia joined us as Operations Winemaker, and will be working alongside our Head Winemaker Jacques, and brings with her a wealth of winemaking experience from around the world.

Growing up among the vines on a farm in South Africa, Sophia caught the winemaking bug after her first harvest in Stellenbosch. Since then, she’s been busy harvest-hopping around the globe, working in South Africa, the USA, Australia, France and the UK.

And now… the Crouch Valley! 🙌

“I’m really excited for this next chapter in the Crouch Valley - getting to know the region, the people, and the potential of this special place. I can’t wait to be part of the journey ahead.”

We’re thrilled to have Sophia on board and can’t wait to see what she and Jacques get up to in the winery.

What an evening that was! 🍷🎶🌅

Our very first Beats & Eats was a huge success - what a way to spend a summer evening at New Hall!

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of great wine, fantastic food and soulful sounds as the sun went down over the vineyard. It was wonderful to see so many of you here, glasses in hand, enjoying the atmosphere.

A big thank you too to our Crouch Valley friends , , and for sharing their wines with us, and to for keeping everyone very well fed! And, of course, to our brilliant DJ for providing the perfect soundtrack to the evening.

We had such a great time putting Beats & Eats together - judging by the turnout and the atmosphere, we might just have to do it again... 👀

Celebrating the wines of the Crouch Valley, with our friends and neighbours! 🙌

Our Beats & Eats Crouch Valley wine party on Friday was a huge success, and we’re still absolutely buzzing!

We have some fab pics to share of this special evening. But first a word about the incredible wines and producers around which the fun centred...

One of the things we loved most about this first B&E was the chance to pour New Hall wines alongside some of our brilliant neighbours from the Crouch Valley.

A huge thank you to , missinggatevineyard, and for joining us and bringing some fantastic wines along for the evening.

There’s so much happening in Essex wine right now, and it was a real pleasure to bring some of the people, bottles and stories behind our local wine scene together in one place.

Great wines, great people - and a wonderful showcase for the glory of The Crouch 🥂
