Good morning and happy Friday!
I can't believe how fast our eggs have been selling this week! Is there a hot weather egg hack that I'm missing out on?🤔

Another hot day on the cards today so please stay safe. Even though we have eggs available during the daytime, the Egg Box is stocked early mornings and in the evenings so you can pick yours up during the cooler hours.

When buying fresh eggs and organic homegrown produce, they will actually rarely look like the mass produced perfectly identical items you get in the supermarket, and that's part of the reason they are so good!

This egg has little sandy bumps on it, which are just calcium deposits - a perfectly normal occurrence with eggs! It is caused by the minerals that the hen consumes.
Sometimes they look like this, or they can appear as larger bumps too. The eggs are completely safe to eat and it just adds to the uniqueness of them!

We love having our own super fresh eggs and sharing them with you to enjoy, but here's a reminder of what we actually do it for🐥

When we rescue our girls, they come with barely any feathers, can be very thin and are really timid. This little hen joined us recently; the spiky bits you can see on her chest are new feathers growing! That area was completely bald when she first arrived!
She will soon look a lot better and is so happy to now be spending her days scratching around on our allotment❤️
