Our Loaghtans made some time in their busy schedules of grazing (and braving the hoolie) to welcome many visitors interested in talking about preserving the heritage of this special indigenous Isle of Man breed. Thank you to everyone who came to our Loaghtan Come & See Day - we were overwhelmed by the interest and we loved having you with us. The Manx Loaghtan Sheep Breeders Association thank you for supporting our efforts to share our knowledge about this heritage breed and to encourage more people to take up the rewarding job of farming Loaghtan.

Yes, Storm Amy’s had a good bluster, but a bit of a hoolie never stopped a farmer! Loaghtan Come & See Day is ON today, 2–5pm at Sulby River Farm.

Hot drinks, a cosy barn, tasters of Loaghtan stew, and the warmest hospitality from our breeders (and the sheep). The Loaghtan will be waiting to welcome you. 🐏

Directions: The easiest option is to use What3Words:(///scruples.existence.fended). If using Maps: From Ramsey on Lezayre Road, turn right into Bernahara Road. From Sulby: Keep going until you're past Ginger Hall Hotel and turn left into Bernahara Road.
