“I do love a good glass of sparkling, and this is easily one of my favourite Cavas. It’s produced by a family-owned winery named after its founder, Pere Ventura. Last year, I had the honour of meeting Pere and his wife Mireia, who are both incredibly passionate about the wines they produce and how to make them better each year. It truly shows in this bottle.
Made using the traditional method, or ‘método tradicional’ as they say in Spain, this Cava spends 15 to 18 months ageing on its lees. This extended maturation not only earns it its prestigious Reserva classification, but also imparts delicious notes of fresh brioche and roasted nuts, all while preserving its crisp, bright fruit profile.
In the glass, you're greeted by a wonderfully fresh bouquet of crisp green apple, citrus zest, and orange blossom, underscored by a touch of toasted almond. The palate is beautifully light and vibrant, leading into a clean, refreshing finish with a subtle hint of biscuit. In true Spanish style, I love to enjoy this poured alongside an array of classic tapas.”
