ππ» SUPPORT LOCAL β BUT ONLY WHEN IT SUITS? π»π
This is something that has frustrated me for years!
I completely understand that pubs tied to large pub companies often have little or no choice about where they purchase their stock. Thatβs not their fault.
But free houses are a different matter.
First, I want to say a huge thank you to the independent pubs that already support us. Your business is genuinely appreciated. π
However, there are plenty of others that donβt, and I find that rather disappointing.
Pubs are constantly asking local people to support them. They want customers through their doors, buying meals, drinking their B**r and C***r, and keeping their businesses alive.
And quite rightly too!
But surely supporting local businesses should work both ways?
Letβs put it into perspective.
Would a pub in West Berkshire expect someone to travel all the way from Cornwall for example, just to have an evening meal and a pint?
Of course not!
Yet some are perfectly happy to buy C***r thatβs travelled hundreds of miles from that distance while completely overlooking an award-winning C***r producer practically on their doorstep!
Weβve been producing Tutts Clump C***r here in West Berkshire for 20 years, working hard to build a local business and support our local community.
Weβre not asking for special treatment, and weβre certainly not expecting every pub to stock our C***r.
Weβre simply asking local businesses to consider supporting other local businesses, just as they expect local customers to support them.
Because at the end of the dayβ¦
You canβt keep asking people to SHOP LOCAL, EAT LOCAL and DRINK LOCAL if youβre not prepared to BUY LOCAL yourself!
π LOCAL SUPPORT SHOULD BE A TWO-WAY STREET! π
