Mortimer Sausage Company MSC consists of a group of old friends with a shared aim to bring quality sausages to your local area

The idea for making hand made sausages emerged from a group of people chatting over a drink in the Horse and Groom Public House in Mortimer. One of the group had in the past lived on a Pig Farm and made sausages by hand and spoke well of the appreciation and demand for lower fat sausages. All agreed that standard shop bangers were heavily loaded with fat and water and it should be possible to do m

uch better. And from these discussions the idea of setting up MSC took shape and the group of (5) MSC ‘sausageers’ set about gaining Food Safety and Hygiene Certificates, hiring the kitchens at St John’s School, Mortimer, sourcing ingredients and commenced to make sausages late in 2012. From the very beginning our product has been immensely popular and we have moved up from producing every two to three months to a more regular monthly production schedule. We have invested in equipment, sought out the suppliers of the best quality ingredients and honed our production skills and the quality of our product continues to gain new fans all the time.
