Last nights flyer saw 60 entries, which is a great showing given the heat and World Cup being on!

Matt Anscomb made short work of the top half of the draw, dropping only 1 frame en route to the semi finals before battling to a 3-2 win over Adam Holmes to earn a spot in his 3rd final.

The bottom half was a bit more dramatic - Lee Nelson produced three first visit finishes in as many frames to beat Bluey Noel before scraping through the semis in a tense deciding frame against Josh Jeffery, who produced his best run in a flyer yet.

The final was a perfect standard, with 3 break dishes and a golden break taking us into a deciding frame. Matt made a ball off the break, and played an excellent opening shot to open the balls up before rolling them in to claim his second flyer win!

Congratulations to Matt on a superb performance and commiserations to Lee.

Youngster Jacob Ledger produced both the lowlight and highlight of the night - first beating his mum and forgetting to shake her hand before going on to beat Luke Terry under the pressure of the stream and the main arena table. Luke then went on to win the plate, defeating Craig Clayton in the final.

The club will open at 10:30 for a prompt 11:00am start. The draw will be done at 10:45 on the day.

Congratulations to Jake Gamblin for winning the Spots and Stripes Category B Event 3 qualifier, he came back from 4–0 down in the semi-final with 5 on the bounce, which pit him against England Junior Daniel McGowan where he triumphed 5-2. Both go through to the Grand final on June 28th.

Also qualifying for the Grand final being held next Sunday were losing semi-finalists Jake Chart and Robert Ede.

That completes the qualifiers.

Congratulations to Danny Taggart for winning this weeks Monday night flyer, beating first time finalist Jez Hill 3-0 in the final!

The Champions League will now be held on Thursday nights. Although this is traditionally a league night, we feel that this will provide a better atmosphere as it will be much busier and works much better for Joe, Nigel, Sam & Tom who will be organising and running the production. As we are only using the arena table, it will not impact on the league games.

Also, just to clarify on the format - you are only committing to playing the following;

Original group stage - one Thursday night between 9th July and 27th August
Second stage - either on the 3rd or 10th September
Finals night - 17th September
