Since 2023, 'The Nest' is a community that’s made maternity leave better for Cornwall's new parents.

Around our mat, while babies play and feed and sleep:
Belly laugh have been shared
Heartfelt tears have been shed
Meaningful friendships have been forged.
That’s why we don’t do puppets, or bubbles, or songs.

By simply sitting with the right vibes, a good coffee and a proper nice flapjack, we make space for the chatter that matters.

Want to join us?
‘The Nest’ welcomes the parents of babies from birth to just-about-crawling at Thursday sessions at The Family Space (1pm). Spaces are limited, so booking is essential.

For more details, and to grab your space, head to: www.borntobirthcornwall.co.uk/the-nest

Honestly, I'm yet to see a group of pregnant strangers have nothing to talk about.

Dues dates.
Symptoms.
Nursery colours.
Pram designs.

This is the small talk that warms you up and gets you all relaxed. And then, if you fancy it, you can move on to the trickier stuff.

Birth plans.
Fears.
Partners.
Risks.
Sleep.

It doesn't really matter, whether you go deep or not. What matters is that you've scratched the itch to find the pregnancy friends that'll make this ride easier.

That's why Bump Club exists.
We'd love you to join us.

You'd be surprised how many birth strategies I use to get through my 6am workout.

Go into any box and you'll realise that this insane sport is less about the KG and so much more about the mindset (unless it's 1 rep max day, when every gram matters).

WODS are about challenge, endurance and resilience, everything you need for birth. It's not about ploughing through regardless, or smashing everything to bits with brute strength.

It's about grounding yourself in your strength, your power, your capacity and using everything you have to push that little bit harder to achieve that thing you didn't thing you'd be able to do.

Acknowledge the fears, and then face them.
Gulp at the slog, and break it down.
Greet everyone else, but go inwards.
Pause and reset, then go again.

And accept that things take time; doing this takes practice. Dedicating time and head space to preparing for the big thing on the horizon is an absolute necessity.

You can wing it.
But rarely will it go as well as if you'd prepped.

It's why I train every weekday at 6am with .
It's why I do antenatal classes in the way that I do.

It's not the knowing that will calm you down, but the feeling of control. And that starts with...
.. the practical. .. the relatable. .. the relevant.

The reality of birth prep is that you can read every book, listen to every podcast and sign up to every free taster and still come away feeling a little wobbly about the whole birth thing because nothing has stuck.

Sure, it all made sense.
But it just... wasn't you.

That's why I do 1:1 antenatal; I adapt everything so that it IS a perfect fit.
To you.

From the questions to the positions, the conversations to the birth plan, week-by-week, we'll build you a tool-kit of really useful, really relevant and really practical knowledge, tools and techniques for you to use in your birth space.

100 antenatal families in, I've seen it work it's magic enough to know I'll never teach another group class again.

If this sounds like you're vibe, comment 'ANTENETAL' or DM me. I'll send you the details on antenatal courses and birth prep options that will really help.

If you don't know how, it's time we talked.

As a doula who spends most of my life supporting births on a medical pathway, I've got a few tricks up my sleeve.

The kind that your average birth-prep class wouldn't teach you. Not because it's anything bad or hippy or woo-woo but because the people teaching you wouldn't even think about it.

I do though.
It's my bread and butter.
Tools and tricks to help even the most medicalised birth go more smoothly, more calmly and filled with confidence.

And I'm not about to keep the stuff that can help behind closed doors.

If you're looking for an antenatal course that genuinely gives you the knowledge, tools and skills to navigate birth on your terms, whatever happens, we need to talk.

Click my bio, book a discovery call and we'll explore the ways I can help you to have the birth you're aiming for.

Group hypnobirthing, NCT, NHS, Happy Baby... I'm not going to slate any of them.

They all serve a purpose and meet a need.
If they meet your needs, that's awesome.

But what if they don't.

What if you're just signing up to them because someone (who didn't tell you their birth story) told you they made some great friends there.

What if you're signing up because it's in a convenient location and you could make the dates.

What if you're just signing up because its the only one you could find in your area.

All needs, yes.
But are these needs that will affect your birth? Probably not.

Trust me, as a doula who supports mainstream home and hospital births within the NHS on a regular basis, believe me when I say that these are not the needs to focus on.

Instead, think about these:
- your hopes.
- your fears.
- your worries.
- your medical scenario.
- your partner's confidence levels.

Now ask yourself, do these big groups with their standardised content give you the chance to tackle and support each one of these very real birth needs well?

Because if the answer is anything but an absolute yes, then it might be worth doing some more research. Or booking in something a bit extra.

Positive births start with strong preparation.
And your needs have to be at the heart of that.

It's why I only do 1:1 antenatal.
It's why my content is adaptive.
Quite frankly, it's why I do what I do.

Curious? DM me and we'll chat about how I can help you prepare for the strong, positive birth experience you totally deserve.

A clinical birth space doesn't have to feel like a surgical waiting room. You just need to know what you're doing.

But that takes some preparation.
From someone who knows the space.
Knows how you adapt and flex.

The ins and out of optimising a space for your emotional and physical strength and wellbeing.

So yes, PLEASE aim and prepare for that waterbirth. But also prepare properly to recreate that calm in a space that's not your home or the birth center.

Because if you need it, your body and brain will be thankful that you put that time in.
