🗺️ Okay, Swaledale... you are officially incredible!
​We went from having zero maps yesterday morning to having four today.
​What started as a really disappointing situation has turned into the ultimate "restored faith in humanity" moment. We are honestly a bit overwhelmed by the generosity. It turns out that for every one person who takes, there are at least four more ready to give back double.
​Where we stand now:
​Map 1: Back in its rightful place on the table for you to plan your routes.
​Maps 2, 3, & 4: Tucked away safely as our "Community Backups."
​We are officially a well-mapped tiny cafe in the Dales! We can’t thank you enough for the donations, the kind words, and for proving that our little corner of the world is full of the best kind of people.
​The coffee is hot, the maps are plentiful, and our spirits are right back where they should be.
​Come see us soon!

Sad times at the kettle.

​Since we opened our doors in November 2023, we’ve loved seeing you all huddle over our Swaledale OS Map. It was there to help you plan your hikes, discover new corners of the dales, and share stories of your day over a coffee.
​Today, we realized someone has decided to take it home with them.
​For a tiny independent business like ours, this is a massive blow. We aren’t a big chain; everything in this cafe is paid for out of our own pockets to make this a welcoming space for everyone. That map wasn't a "freebie"—it was a tool for the community and our visitors to enjoy. It’s incredibly disappointing that someone felt their need for a map was more important than the community's.
​To whoever took it:
If you realize you made a mistake in a lapse of judgment, please—just bring it back. No questions asked. Slide it under the door or pop it on the counter. We just want our map back so our other guests can enjoy it again.
​To the rest of our lovely customers, thank you for always being so respectful of our space. It’s your support that keeps us going, even on the days when things like this happen.
​A small favor to our locals...
​If you happen to see an OS map of our specific area "miraculously" appear in an unexpected place, or if you have a spare one gathering dust that you'd like to donate to help us bridge the gap, we’d be eternally grateful.

​Sundays were made for slow mornings with speciality coffees, croissants, newspapers and some serious sandwiches. Today, we’re serving up a classic, but here’s the catch: When it’s gone, it’s gone.
​Our Reuben Toasted Sandwich is filled with
