We are looking after our son Tom’s sheep dog Blink while he is away and we checked the sheep with Blink’s help this evening.
We have no idea of the commands, except away and lie down Blink, so left it all to him. He is amazing, thanks to his wonderful trainer Rob Moore.

With all the hay out of the meadow Robert and Fred spent Sunday afternoon putting up an electric fence to keep the cattle out of the main River Avon leaving the back stream unfenced. We shifted 69 cattle from a brown dead pasture to 60 acres of lush grass at 11am Monday.
By the middle of the afternoon the b******s were through the fence and lying in the reed along the river bank. The wire was in several unravenable knots and a couple of the posts were out of the ground. When Robert went to check them this morning, 6 of them walked up the back stream and ended up swimming until they found a place to get out.
We hate cattle.

Loading the last bales in the meadow on the 31st of July. We have 2 old Ford diggers, Robert leaves one with the bale grab in the meadow, and tows the trailer, which can take 12 bales without strapping, with the other. Tom had Uther and Ulysses on the horse drawn trailer which can take four bales. Parking the boys in a bale saves having to tie them on🤣

Rowing up or swathing up, or raking in,
or what ever you call it where you live, with an Enrossi V rake for bailing.

Fred and daughter Ada bringing four, five foot bales out of the meadow.
With Uther and Ulysses.
The bales weigh probably half a ton each? So 2 tons of hay, but the hay trailer has wheels so not a great load for these two horses.
