We can finally share the grand total from our KRC Charity Rugby Day…

A HUGE £5,094.68! 🙌

That money will now be split between the four brilliant causes we held the day for:

🚁 Yorkshire Air Ambulance
💙 Menfulness
🏫 Friends of Bishop Monkton School
🏫 Friends of Grewelthorpe School - FROGS

What started as an idea for a friendly rugby match for the lads on site, soon turned into a full charity fundraiser. A day filled with family fun and community and we genuinely couldn’t have done it without everyone who got behind it 🫶

To every sponsor who backed the day, every business that donated a raffle prize, everyone who helped organise and set up, the players who pulled their boots on, Ripon RUFC for hosting us, and every single person who came through the gates and paid for entry, bought raffle tickets, had a drink, grabbed some food and supported the day…

THANK YOU.

There were a lot of people involved in making it happen, and every bit of support helped us reach that £5,094.68 total.

Plenty of laughs, a few sore bodies afterwards 🫣 and, most importantly, a fantastic amount raised for four causes that mean a lot to us.

Fair play to everyone involved, a day to definitely be proud of 💙🏉

Working for Yorkshire Water and M Group Water as Principal Contractor, our team were tasked with excavating and installing the temporary shoring system to design, ready for the construction of the Storm Spill Reduction Works.

And when you’re working at this sort of depth, the shoring isn't just there to hold a bit of muck back, It’s an engineered temporary works system designed to support the excavation, control ground movement and create a safe, stable working area for the construction works below.

From the initial excavation and installation of the shoring panels and hydraulic/mechanical bracing, through to the reinforced concrete structure now taking shape inside, these photos give a pretty good idea of the amount of work that eventually disappears underground!

The end goal? Reducing storm spills and improving the resilience of the wastewater network. 💧

Thank you to EVERYONE who came and brought tickets, helped out on the day and supported our charity rugby day on Saturday at The Ripon Rugby Club.

What a fantastic afternoon 🏉 We are so PROUD of ALL the lads who got together as a team and played, some who have never played before and as a team gave their all. Honestly, you’ve done KRC and yourselves proud 👏🏼

Thank you to Ripon RUFC for agreeing to play and putting on a great game. Congratulations on your win lads 🏆

Progress at Worth Valley 🚧

A look back at some of the work carried out by the team on our Worth Valley project.

James, Tom, Zac and Danny have been busy on site, stripping the ground before installing and welding the new pipeline.

The works also included drilling a couple of shots beneath the roads, allowing the pipeline to continue without the need for open excavation across the carriageway.

A good team effort and some great progress on the job 👏
