Another forest school course completed at Glottenham.
We had a lot of egg based activities, along with foraged food and fire.

A 2 day course in the woods

The High Weald has some of the most complete medieval landscapes in Europe.
As our land is heavy clay, and the topography is hilly, it hasn’t lent itself to industrial farming, and as a result our ancient hedgerows and field boundaries are still in place, and Sussex is one of the most wooded counties in England, much of it ancient native.
As we start our rewilding journey we have spent the day doing hedgerow surveys and taking soil samples. We know that some areas have some really significant ecological markers, such as tufted grass, anthills and wax cap mushrooms, and we have a wealth of different habitats.

Our Winter Forest school 2 day course is now open for bookings.
For ages 11-16, this is a free provision supported by ESCC for kids on free school meals or from a wider group which includes those with EHCP, SEN/CAHMS, young carers etc. A small group with only 12 places
