This is by far my favourite lamb recipe. Probably one of my favourite recipes of all time.

I served mine with beef tallow roasted potatoes, honey roasted carrots & parsnips and purple sprouting broccoli. It was divine.

Lambing is still a few weeks off but the early mornings have already started; we’re up at sunrise to check the girls, then again at sunset.
Dawn and dusk tend to be when the sheep will lamb, when you lamb outside like we do. It’s also when there tend to be the problems, if you’re going to get them, on the run up to lambing. So we’re checking the girls at 12 hour intervals and as we creep nearer to their due dates we’ll be upping this to checks throughout the day as well.
It’s tiring but helps get the body clock ready for the early starts that come with lambing and the extra bonus is the getting our little corner of the world to yourself for a while whilst almost everyone else is still tucked up in bed!
Plus the sunrises aren’t bad!

If your local, you may have noticed we’ve filled Long Combe up with 🐑
These our almost all our in lamb ewes, due to start lambing Easter Monday. They’ll be in here for a few weeks so if you’re out walking please be respectful, keep to the footpath, keep all dogs on a short lead and give the ladies plenty of space. They are a quiet bunch but can’t get anywhere in a hurry at this strange in pregnancy!
