☀️ IMPORTANT FARM NOTICE ☀️

Due to the forecast of extreme temperatures, Wellgate Farm will be closed to the public from Monday 22nd June to Friday 26th June.

The welfare of our animals must always come first. During this period, all of our efforts will be focused on ensuring our animal residents remain safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the hot weather.☀️

With temperatures expected to be exceptionally high, limiting public access allows our team to dedicate additional time to providing shade, fresh water, cooling measures and close monitoring of all animals across the farm.🐑🦙

We understand this may be disappointing, but we know our wonderful community will appreciate that animal welfare is our highest priority.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and continued support of Wellgate Farm. 💚

Please keep an eye on our social media channels for any updates regarding reopening.📲

We kindly ask that visitors DO NOT travel to the farm during this period. While we’re incredibly grateful for your support, the farm will remain closed to the public and our team will unfortunately have to turn visitors away on arrival. Thank you for helping us put the welfare of our animals first.

What an incredible weekend at our Open Day! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to make the day so special. From meeting our wonderful animals and enjoying hands-on animal encounters, to exploring our Forest Story area, browsing the fantastic local stalls, and watching the Mayor present awards to some truly deserving members of our community, including our young farmers who have completed their bronze awards🥉, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Two of these members, were our very own volunteer gardeners Debbie and Dara who won our George Durham award that goes to an adult member of the farm who has made a significant impact on Wellgate over a number of years or with a project-they work tirelessly in our gardens and with our buzzy bees to ensure it’s a beautiful, growing space for everyone to enjoy and learn from💛 They are a perfect example of the kindness and hard work amazing people give to keep us going and growing🌱

Events like these are about so much more than a day out. They bring people together, create lasting memories, celebrate local achievements, and showcase the amazing community spirit that makes our farm such a special place.☀️

We loved seeing families, friends, supporters, volunteers, stallholders, and visitors of all ages enjoying everything the day had to offer. Your support helps us continue providing opportunities for people to connect with animals, nature, and each other.🐑🫂

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, exhibited, performed, donated, and helped behind the scenes. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We’re already looking forward to the next one! ❤️🐑🐐🌳

Despite us postponing the dog show, the open day is still going full steam ahead!🚂 and will be one of our best yet!👀

We can’t wait to welcome everyone for a family-friendly fun day full of smiles, community and lots and lots of fun!☀️

🐾 Important Open Day Update 🐾

Further to our post yesterday, unfortunately, due to the forecasted high temperatures, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Dog Show at our Open Day this Saturday.

The welfare of all animals involved is always our top priority, and with temperatures expected to be too high for dogs to safely participate and enjoy the event, we feel this is the most responsible decision.

Our Open Day will still be going ahead as planned, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the farm to meet our animals and enjoy the day with us.☀️🎉

We are currently exploring the possibility of rescheduling the Dog Show for a later date when conditions are more suitable, so please keep an eye on our social media pages for any future updates.👀

‼️IMPORTANT NOTICE- Regarding: Open day June 20th Dog Show🐶‼️‼️

The weather is due to reach a whopping temperature here the weekend which will make for a super fun open day!!!☀️🎉

However, at Wellgate Farm our main priority is always the welfare of animals, both ours and others attending the event- With temperatures expected to reach up to 27 degrees, these are not safe temperatures for us to promote dogs being out due to them struggling to regulate their body temperature in hot weather🥵🥵

We will continue to monitor the weather forecast closely throughout the week. If temperatures are forecast to exceed 25°C, the Dog Show will unfortunately not go ahead due to animal welfare concerns.

We know many of you are excited to take part, and we appreciate your understanding that this decision would be made entirely in the best interests of the dogs attending. ❤️
