Assistant Farm Manager (Herefordshire and Suffolk)

Due to our continued growth, we have not one, but TWO brand new roles available at Cobrey Farms.

We are looking for two Assistant Farm Managers to support our Farm Managers across our Herefordshire and Suffolk operations.

We’re seeking practical, motivated individuals ready to take the next step in their farming careers. This role is ideal for someone with a solid practical foundation who is keen to develop their skills, broaden their experience, and progress into a more senior position over time.

Whether you’re an experienced operator or have gained hands‑on experience through agricultural studies, we’d like to hear from you.

About the Role
Working closely with the Farm Managers, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of day‑to‑day field operations. Acting as right‑hand support, you’ll step in where needed, help keep work moving, and ensure teams and machinery are operating efficiently and safely.

You will be involved in:

Supporting Farm Managers with daily planning for cultivations, drilling, spraying, and general tractor operations
Setting up and preparing machinery in the field, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient operation
Monitoring machinery performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
Assisting with machinery breakdowns, fault‑finding, and routine maintenance
Ordering machinery parts and coordinating servicing as required
Monitoring irrigation systems, crop performance, and field conditions
Completing machinery service records, spray and work records, stock checks, and basic farm administration
Getting hands‑on during busy periods and supporting the wider farm team

This is a practical role with plenty of variety, responsibility, and progression for those aiming to develop into future farm management positions.

What We’re Looking For

Strong practical farming or machinery experience
A hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn
Mechanical awareness and confidence around modern equipment
Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
An interest in progressing into farm management roles

What We Offer
Training and long‑term career development
Exposure to a wide range of crops and modern machinery
Opportunities available in Herefordshire or Suffolk
A supportive, progressive, family‑run business
