Cragside engineer author, Henrietta Heald visited us and gave an insightful talk on his legacy. Lord Armstrong remodelled Cragend as his Demonstration Farm for water powered hydraulics in 1883. Our tours of our machinery run throught the summer. Book through Historic Houses Invitation to View.

New project in Rothbury.

Our church bells have been a big part of village life, ringing out and bringing the community together since 1893. Time and the elements have taken their toll. Unless we take action now to restore this peal of bells, their historic voices will fall silent.

A prize herd of Shorthorns once graced these cattle sheds. Bought in 1873 by Lord Armstrong of Cragside and sold in 1908 they were a feature in The Times 1908 when they were sold at auction.
