A huge thank you to frank! for creating such a bountiful organic kitchen garden for us this year - we’ve been eating very well indeed, with endless salads and fresh organic veg.

And there’s more to come… jams, chutneys and other goodies which will find their way into our Coes larder shop for guests.

Nothing fancy. Just good homegrown food made with passion 🌱

The big old Perry pear tree has pears in abundance — perhaps destined for a little Perry experiment of our own this year.

Growing lambs, happy flock, but very dry grass. 🐑🌱

Everyone’s doing well — now we could just do with a little rain. 🌧️

The first signs of veraison are beginning to appear in our Sauvignac, so we thought it was time for a vineyard update.

Following the frost we experienced in May. Yields are significantly down across all our varieties.

Our vines continue to mature and we were estimating around 7 tonnes for 2026. Instead, if everything goes well from here, we’re likely to harvest closer to 1.5 tonnes.

The silver lining is that the vines have recovered remarkably well. While many won’t carry much fruit this season, they’re healthy, full of leaf, and rebuilding the energy reserves they’ll need for next year’s growth.

So, as vine growers often do, we’re quietly saying once again… next year will be our year. 💚

186 solar panels quietly doing their thing.

Days like these remind us why we installed them. Long summer days mean they’re helping power life here at Coes Farm – from the winery to our guest accommodation.

Making natural, organic wine is about working with nature wherever we can. The solar panels are just one small part of that, helping us reduce our reliance on the grid while making the most of a brilliant English summer.

Here’s to blue skies, long evenings. 🥂
