Three weeks on from the late spring frost and the vineyard is slowly finding its colour again 🌱

After a fairly nerve-racking start to the season, we’re beginning to see secondary shoots emerging across the vines, and thankfully a portion of the Sauvignac came through untouched.

We’re still waiting to see whether inflorescence will appear and what this year’s yields might actually look like — farming continues to be an exercise in optimism and delayed answers.

But for now, things are moving in the right direction, and we may even be back to shoot selecting next week ✂️🍇

This spring, with the help of we spent weeks pruning, untangling, and carefully preserving our wisteria tunnel while dismantling the old oak arch beneath it. Then the wonderful team .wardour.forge created an incredible new steel structure for it to grow on.

The wisteria remains — ready to bloom for many years to come.

With plenty of nettle and horsetail growing wild around the farm, we’ve been making fresh preparations to spray through the vineyard after the recent frost.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be experimenting with both teas alongside seaweed extracts in the hope of supporting recovery and encouraging some healthy secondary bud growth. 🌿🤞🏼

A heartbreaking morning in the vineyard. After five frost-free years, last night’s cold snap hit both blocks hard. The vines will recover, but the impact on our 2026 yields will be significant. A humbling reminder that farming is always at the mercy of nature.
