🍂 Autumn is Here 🍂
As the season turns to Autumn, our bees are busy preparing for winter. Unlike some bumblebee species, honey bees don’t hibernate — they remain active throughout the year.
By now, all the male bees have been expelled from the hive. The food stores are carefully reserved for the queen and her loyal female worker bees. The queen has stopped laying eggs, and the bees currently in the hive will live through the winter, ready to welcome new life in early spring when egg-laying resumes.
Unlike some beekeepers, we don’t take all the honey our bees produce. We leave them plenty of their own honey — their natural and nutritious winter food source. Packed with pollen and essential nutrients, it’s far better for their health than sugar syrup or artificial supplements.
On sunny autumn days, you may still spot our bees flying, foraging on late-blooming flowers like ivy to top up their stores for the colder months ahead.
🍯 Honey Still Available 🍯
We still have a limited supply of our delicious honey available:
• £6 for a 12oz jar
• or £5 per jar when buying 2 or more jars
Once it’s gone, the next harvest won’t be until June next year, so don’t miss out!
