I'm back. And I missed this more than I expected.

After a well-deserved break with my family — I'm back in the kitchen. 🤍

Honestly? I didn't realise how much I'd missed it until I started baking again. The smell of the sponge in the oven, the quiet of the kitchen when everyone's asleep, the feeling of making something with my hands that brings people joy.

This little business of mine means everything to me. And after a few days of rest, I feel ready to pour even more into it.

So — I'm back. Orders are open. And I have something exciting coming up this Sunday…

This week has been one of those where everything needed to fit into the same day…

School run, work, a bit of studying and then straight into the kitchen to prepare cakes.

It’s busy, but I’ve learned to work around it and make the most of the time I have.

And when I see the finished cake ready to go, it always feels worth it ❤️

This Sunday is a very special one for me…

I’ll be attending my first craft market at The Centre in Brinsworth, and I’m honestly so excited (and a little nervous 😊).

It means a lot to take this step and bring Simone’s Sweet Creations outside my kitchen and into the community.

I’ll have a selection of cupcakes, cookies, sweet treats and goodies ready for you — perfect for a little weekend treat or to take home and enjoy with your family ❤️

One thing many people don’t realise is that a cake shouldn’t be eaten immediately after it’s made.

After I fill and assemble a cake, it needs to stay in the fridge for several hours so everything can set properly.

This helps the flavours come together, the texture improve, and the cake hold its shape perfectly when it’s cut.

It’s one of those small steps that takes time, but makes a big difference in the final result ❤️
