Last year a bit of a leap for us - moving to a new island and setting out to get known for what we do and love and just taking every opportunity that was presented to us.
We brought our seafood extravaganza nights to Bute Yard, along with a variety of different menus and rolled up with the food truck at ButeFest alongside Bute Kitchen — not really knowing how it would land, but hoping there was an appetite for something a bit different.
And honestly… the response blew us away.
There’s something quite special (and a bit mad) about living on an island surrounded by incredible seafood, but not really having access to it in a simple, everyday way. What we found was that so many of you felt the same — and you showed up for it. Properly.
Since then, we’ve been working away behind the scenes with plans to bring the truck out more regularly — with Port Bannatyne and the Bandstand on Montague Street both part of that vision. We’re still working through the planning side of things (as always!), so it’s not quite there yet…
But in the meantime, we’re not sitting still.
We’ll be back at Bute Yard with pop-ups and market days — keeping things moving, cooking good food, and building this with you all as we go.
It’s early days, but it feels like something is growing here. And we’re really glad to be doing it here on Bute, with you.
So join us this Sunday for the Easter market Bute Yard for the first seafood treat of the season and follow us to keep up to date with where we are with the project and most importantly, where you can get freshly cooked seafood!
