The Paddock Family run Fruit & Veg Box Scheme, Delivery Service & Smallholding specialising in organic. Food that tastes the way it should - the way it used to!

The Paddock itself is our 6 acre smallholding based on the beautiful Northumberland/Gateshead border, which has provided the starting point for our small, family run business which aims to bring local, fresh, seasonal, homegrown, homemade and organically sourced (wherever possible) food to the doors of local people throughout Gateshead, Newcastle, County Durham and Northumberland through a delivery service & our farm shop! A selection of set price, fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetable boxes are available ranging in size and price as well as a good range of individually priced fruit and vegetables, giving you the flexibility to create your own box. No commitment is needed, with one off, weekly and fortnightly options available. We aim to produce what we can at The Paddock, but what we can't we source locally and organically. All our fruit and veg is grown free from chemicals and is fully traceable back to the producer! Fresh free range eggs are also available, all laid fresh by Laura's Layers, the wonderfully entertaining chickens at The Paddock and local, small scale producers! We have formed some excellent partnerships with local producers throughout Northumberland and further afield who have kindly agreed to share their wonderfully tasty produce with The Paddock. The Paddock hopes to enable you to enjoy the great taste of fresh, homegrown, free range and organically sourced produce delivered direct to your door. Collection available from our own farm shop, and a selection of drop off points across the region. Our Farm Shop is located at 7-9 Ramsay Street, High Spen, Tyne and Wear, NE39 2EL where we stock over 800 organic, local, ethical & sustainable food, home & lifestyle options including our Plastic Free Pantry for Organic Dried Foods sold loose by weight, and our Refill Station for eco friendly, plant based cleaning products. We've been working really hard on the packing room extension before the bad weather sets in! Roof going on this weekend.

Tested it with one of the tallest pallets I've ever seen, thanks to the veg pallet packing extraordinaires that are Organic North

500kg of beautiful fruit & veg delivered today from independent organic farms across the UK.

I (Laura) single handedly shifted the whole lot as Mike was working elsewhere 💪

There's no huge team behind The Paddock, it is quite literally myself and Mike who organise, pack & deliver your boxes. We do all of the admin, we pack it all, move it, drive it to where it needs to be, all from our little garage.

Mike's off now to pick up 150kg of potatoes from Buston Farms Ltd

We have some amazing suppliers & work with some seriously cool indi businesses such as Bud Couriers for our Newcastle city centre deliveries to bring every veg box every week direct to your door. Then there's all the extra products to organise & pack too! Our little house is bursting at the seems as all of the Chritmas products have started to be delivered.

Off now to order veg for next week, and then have a lie down! 🤣

Every year we try to do a seasonal special jam or chutney with pur homegrown produce. Grown at The Paddock Smallholding near Greenside, made in Chopwell & delivered to your doorstep across the North East.

Two local, small scale enterprises working together.

Eating local, seasonal food doesn't get much easier than this.

This is just one of the cyclical relationships we love at The Paddock. Having known Hannah for many years, we supply the fruit, she makes the chutney, we buy it off her to support the good work The Pickle Palace do and we sell it to. In buying it, you support us both to continue to make our Local communities a really bloody cool place to live! Thank you 😊 🙏

Thank you all for another busy week! Few pics of some of this week's boxes heading onto the van & out to customers.

We reuse boxes that come into us with veg in to minimise waste. Return them to us & we'll reuse them time & time again!

Working on the veg box lists for next week now & updates to the availability which will be on the website this evening, order by 11pm Sunday & we go again.....

Autumn Veg Boxes delivering all the colour! Not going to lie, we were absolutely chuffed to send you all this lovely colourful produce last week, thank you so much for all your orders & we hope you all enjoyed receiving your boxes as much as we enjoy planning, packing & delivering them!

One of my favourite things is to colour coordinate the boxes and there is no better time of year to do it than this, so if you are thinking of getting started, as wor Sam says 'I'm only getting started...."

Join us next Saturday 10th October on Grainger Street in Newcastle between 10.30am & 6pm, along with a whole host of sustainable businesses & food enterprises for the North East Biodiversity & Regenerative Food Festival. There will be lovely goodies to buy on the day, delicious food stalls & lots of information about how you can make more sustainable food choices if you live in the North East.

We'll be there with eggs from our own hens, jams & chutneys made with Paddock Grown Produce, a selection of locally grown squashes, potatoes, apples & more.
