Experienced Shepherd
Location: Central Otago
Full time position
P a i d o v e r t i m e
Reports to: Stock Manager
Accommodation: single quarters
Beaumont station is a 28,000ha sheep and
beef station in central otago. We are
seeking a capable and motivated
experienced Shepherd to join our team. We
use a mixture of horses and side by sides
for mustering.
This is a full time role, ideal for someone
who enjoys being part of a team and also
working alone. You would need a good
team of dogs under good control.
Working closely with the Stock Manager,
you will support the day-to-day running of
the station and its 70,000 stock units. The
role offers variety, across livestock
handling, mustering on horse and general
farm maintenance. You would also have
the opportunity to go on our annual
a u t u m m u s t e r.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the daily care, health and
m o v e m e n t o f B l i v e s t o c k
• Support the Stock Manager in day to day
t a s k s
• Maintain high standards of animal
welfare and stock presentation
• Assist with fencing, water systems, and
general farm maintenance
• Help train and guide our GFF students
• record-keeping on Resolution.
A b o u t You
You will bring a strong work ethic,
reliability, and enthusiasm for practical,
h a n d s - o n work.
Ideally, you will have:
• At least two year's experience in sheep
and beef systems
• G o o d s t o c k s e n s e a n d c o m m i t m e n t to
a n i m a l w e l f a r e
• A proactive approach and ability to work
both independently and as part of a team
• Effective c o m m u n i c a t i o n skills a n d
a t t e n t i o n t o detail
• A restricted or full driver's license
