We’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve been named the American Distilling Institute’s International Distillery of the Year 2026.

To be recognised among distilleries from around the world is a very special moment for everyone here. It’s a reflection of the care, creativity and determination that goes into every spirit we make, right here on the island.

And to see Mermaid continuing to make its way across the world makes this award even more meaningful. From our home on the Isle of Wight to bars, restaurants and shelves overseas, we’re proud to be sharing a taste of our island with more people than ever before.

A huge bravo to our incredible team, our partners and distributors, and to everyone who has supported us along the way.

Xav captured these fab shots this morning of Boadicea hops in full bloom, soaking up the sunshine at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

Humulus Lupulus, the Latin name for hops, translates as ‘wolf of the woods’. And these particular hops are almost ready for harvest.

Once they’re ready, we’ll stew, brew and infuse them into our signature Mermaid Gin recipe, giving Mermaid its spicy, earthy character.

What makes them even more special? These Boadicea hops are grown closer to the sea than any other hops in the country.

They pair beautifully with angelica root, one of the 10 responsibly sourced botanicals in our signature Mermaid Gin recipe, adding depth and character to every bottle.

Mindfully crafted low-alcohol cocktails, delivering Mermaid's distinct taste with a refreshingly light touch.

Recreate our bright and breezy Pickle Daze recipe at home, with a 3.2% ABV.

Simply add 15ml Mermaid Gin, 50ml watermelon juice, 25ml pickle brine & 25ml lime juice to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into an ice-filled glass and top with Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Tonic, garnished with a long cucumber slice.

The Hugo Spritz is summer in a (wine) glass. A subtly sweet and sparkling aperitivo, with citrussy aromatics from our ever-popular Mermaid Zest Gin.

To recreate this simple cocktail, add lightly bruised mint, elderflower liqueur, and Mermaid Zest Gin to a wine glass, followed by ice, soda, and fizz. Stir & garnish with a wheel of lemon, plus a sprig of mint or wild-foraged elderflower flowers.

Join us today in raising a toast to commemorate Black Tot Day.

A tradition lasting from 1655 to 1970, with sailors in the Royal Navy issued with a daily ration of rum. The treasured tradition stopped as more technological machinery came on board, which was considered unsafe to operate when under the influence. Many mourn this day each year by pouring a ceremonial tot into the sea as a symbolic burial.

If you fancy splicing the mainbrace all you'll need is 70ml of Navy Strength Rum. We'll of course be using our HMS Victory Navy Strength Rum, made in partnership with our friends at The National Museum of the Royal Navy. Whether you drink it or bury it is up to you. "Up Spirits!"
