We're online and also have a shop in Northiam, East Sussex. Drop by for some cocktail inspiration, beer or wine! Difford's Shop is located in the village of Northiam, East Sussex, and online nationwide. It's a unique family-run off-licence with...

- a wine selection offering a delicious choice of wines, a little more special than the supermarket-style wines from large producers. We always have bottles open so you can try before you buy,
- a beer range led by local breweries, with some Belgian and speciality and non-alcoholic beers as well,
- fresh ale drawn straight from the cask or keg and sold in 1-litre (1¾ pints) and 2-litre (3½ pints) containers to enjoy at home,
- one of the country’s largest ranges of quality cocktail ingredients, bar tools and elegant glassware. If you're local to us, we’d love to see you soon. Please drop by for a warm welcome, cocktail inspiration or some beer or wine to enjoy your evening with! If you can't visit in-person, we've still got you covered 🙌 We ship anywhere in mainland UK. Today we're experimenting with sherry...seven types of sherry in the same cocktail. We used the Explorer cocktail (blended Scotch wh**ky, amaretto and amontillado sherry) as our 'control' and went more dry and more sweet. In the photo, from the right...manzanilla, fino, amontillado, palo cortado, oloroso, cream and pedro ximénez - all of them are Lustau sherries.
My favourites were made with Lustau Manzanilla Papirusa and Lustau East India Solera. Two very different cocktails, with only the style of sherry as the difference. One for the beginning of the evening, and one for the end!

Out of the shop and up to The Oval this week for a w**e tasting. We worked our way up and down, and sometimes back up again, some long tables of deliciousness, with the cricket carrying on (mostly) quietly outside.

Ten years of Italicus, Happy Birthday!

When Italicus launched in 2016 it brought back rosolio, a category that had been all but forgotten. It's very Italian, with Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian citron, Roman chamomile, lavender and gentian. It has bright citrus, soft florals and a gently bitter finish. It's one of the most useful bottles you can own - it’s featured in 226 cocktail recipes on Difford’s Guide!

To mark a decade of Italicus there's a limited edition DECIMO bottle. The familiar silhouette, cap and gold label are still there, but the signature blue glass has been reworked in a ceramic-inspired finish: ten bergamot roundels, one for each year, and a water pattern drawn from the turquoise of the Amalfi Coast.

We're delighted to have it in stock, and while stocks last, every bottle comes with a free Italicus glass and olive pick.

With the weekend nearly upon us, there's plenty worth dropping in for...
- a growing line-up of local b**rs and ciders, including Three Legs on cask. Just bring your own container or we can supply one
- new w**es in, plus an END OF SUMMER W**E SALE on selected whites and rosés
- all the ingredients for thousands of cocktails on Difford's Guide

One of those is a current favourite of ours...the Sherry Caipirinha. Lighter in alcohol than the cachaça classic and a delicious sipper while it's still warm out. The bottle's on the shelf and online if you fancy trying it.

We opened a year ago with a simple idea: one place for everything you need to drink well at home. People are still (happily!) surprised to find us in Northiam, and for those further afield, we have an online shop and ship across Mainland UK too.

We've a varied rosé selection - from crisp English fizz to Provençal classics, pale and dry to fuller and fruitier, with bottles starting from under £10. Whatever your style or budget there's something here worth trying.
