A new whisky festival is coming to Lewes...

A new whisky festival is coming to Lewes.

For one day, the heart of East Sussex will become a meeting place for whisky lovers, curious newcomers, independent spirits enthusiasts and some of the people behind the bottles themselves.

Lewes Whisky Festival brings together a carefully selected collection of distilleries, independent bottlers, whisky specialists and drinks producers for an afternoon of discovery, conversation and, of course, whisky.

Expect over a hundred whiskies to explore, from familiar favourites to bottles you may never have encountered before. Meet the people who make, select and champion them, discover new styles and regions, and take your time finding something that suits your palate.

This isn't about knowing your single malt from your blended malt before you arrive. It's about enjoying whisky.

Whether you're already deeply immersed in the world of whisky or simply curious to discover what lies beyond the bottle on your shelf, you'll find plenty to explore.

Introducing our August optional second Club Bottle, currently being enjoyed by Members, Americana 11 Year Old Single Barrel Rye Whiskey.

Rye whiskey is at the heart of American whiskey tradition and heritage, with small rye distilleries found across the country in the late 1600s, when rye was a grain praised for its hardiness and blight resistance.

By the 1800s rye whiskey was America’s number one spirit with only Prohibition able to break its popularity, followed by bourbon being boosted by corn subsidies giving it a cost advantage.

This is a whiskey I have been looking forward to sharing for years, having first tasted the barrel a while ago and knowing that it was going to be fantastic with age.

Introducing our August Club Bottle, currently being enjoyed by Members, Port Dundas 20 Year Old Single Grain Whisky finished in Recioto barriques.

This is an opportunity to taste and enjoy something that is slowly disappearing, from a distillery that was demolished fifteen years ago.

The barriques for this delicious bottling were sourced from my trip to Valipolicella, creating something incredibly unique for Members to enjoy.

Grapefruit Highball
