🍷 Happy International Pinot Noir Day! 🍷

Delicate and elegant – this is a grape loved for its bright red fruit, fresh acidity and lighter style.

But it doesn’t make life easy for those who grow it. Pinot Noir is famously temperamental in the vineyard, earning it the nickname ‘the heartbreak grape’.

Originally from Burgundy 🇫🇷 , expect plenty of raspberry and cherry, often alongside earthy mushroom and forest floor notes. 🍒 🍄‍🟫

🌍 Burgundy might be its spiritual home, but you’ll also find fantastic Pinot Noir in the USA, New Zealand, Germany and increasingly here in England.

It shines as a single-varietal w**e, but it’s also a star of traditional-method sparkling w**es from around the world – including Ch*****ne and English sparkling.

🍽️ Pinot Noir is incredibly versatile with food, pairing brilliantly with everything from meat and vegetable dishes to creamy pasta, risotto and cheese.

🥂 Happy International Prosecco Day! 🥂

Time to celebrate Italy’s most famous fizz — made in north-eastern Italy and produced using the tank method to preserve its fresh, fruity character. Think crisp apple, pear and citrus, with delicate floral notes.

A few things to look out for when choosing a bottle:
✨ Prefer a drier style? Look for Brut.

🍬 Like your fizz with a little sweetness? Look for Extra Dry. (Yes, I know this labelling term is a bit confusing, but that’s a story for another day! 😉)

⛰️ Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG comes from the steep, hilly vineyards between the villages of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, and is home to some of the finest Prosecco.

Cheers to Drink Chenin Blanc Day!

Chenin Blanc is one of w**e’s most versatile grapes.

It can do it all: crisp, dry whites, sparkling w**es, and rich, luscious sweet w**es with serious ageing potential.

Originally from France’s Loire Valley, it’s now widely planted around the world. Wherever it grows, it keeps the same calling card: bright natural acidity that brings freshness and balance to every style.

Fun fact: It’s the most widely planted grape in South Africa — more than any other white or red variety.

From seafood and roast chicken to soft cheeses, dry styles are a dream at the table. Sweeter w**es? Think fruit desserts and blue cheese.

Cheers to National Fish & Chips Day!

Tonight’s very important question: what are you drinking with your fish & chips?

A crisp, zesty Sauvignon Blanc.
A mouthwatering, lip-zapping Picpoul de Pinet.
A bone-dry Riesling with that racy acidity.
Or a fresh, dry rosé if you’re feeling breezy.

All excellent choices.

But our personal favourite? Traditional method sparkling — Ch*****ne, Crémant, Cava or English Sparkling W**e (other traditional method bubbles are available, obvs).

The acidity and bubbles cut through the richness of the batter brilliantly — and let’s be honest, salty chips are delicious with everything.
