Just a couple more days till our Autumn menu drops here at St Austell Market House!

And we have some special treats and decorations around the cafe to feel the season! And a couple of extra things to hopefully feel extra cosy.

Had an interesting discussion yesterday with Kate of Cornwall Performing Arts about how Christmas just creeps closer and closer each year and seems this last couple of years to have almost pushed Halloween out of the way. So rest assured we won't mention the C word again for a while (when we'll launch pre-orders of cakes and yule logs, etc).

Tonight is Games Night in St Austell Market House with pizza served from 7pm. We also have our full normal menu including treats, drinks, pasties and toasties, etc. available to order.

Also we've started a fun new question of the week on a whiteboard in the cafe space (results of last week shown below, as well as this week's question). Come cast your vote whilst you're here and see if you're "normal" haha.

Now we enter into autumn, we'll be releasing our special autumnal menu shortly so keep an eye out. And let us know by commenting if there's anything you'd like to see on it before it's finalised!

Happening tomorrow throughout the town.

The planning that's gone into this, the meetings, etc with all sorts of advisory groups has been huge but we've done it to prove that events can be run in the town by individuals or groups. And we've learned every step of the way to help and support others plan events for the future, hopefully!

Vegans! (And others)

My wife a week ago requested a "strawberry shortcake cookie" after seeing something on TikTok. She didn't ask for them vegan but I thought I'd give it a go for 2 reasons... 1) I ran out of cocoa powder so couldn't do my normal triple chocolate vegan cookies and 2) I don't experiment with vegan flavours enough.

So these are now made! And I had to taste test one (as did Jazz) and can confirm they are super yummy with blobs of jam and biscuit throughout.

St Austell Town is about to get a little bit noisier, shinier and considerably more classic...

This Saturday, 5th September, the St Austell Show and Shine is taking over the town centre from 10am to 4pm.

If you're someone who loves cars, bikes, classic vehicles, unusual vehicles, shiny vehicles, loud vehicles, old vehicles or basically anything with wheels and an engine, this is one for you.

And if you don't own a vehicle yourself, that's absolutely fine. Come along, have a wander, admire some proper automotive eye candy and chat to the people who own them.

The event has been months in the planning by the St Austell Town Team, and it's brilliant to see something like this bringing people into the town centre.

The show will stretch through the town centre, with vehicles around Biddicks Court, Fore Street, Vicarage Place and towards White River, making St Austell the place to be if you're a petrolhead for the day.

And naturally, while you're here, you'll need somewhere to refuel...

I'll be open and ready to keep you fed and caffeinated while you enjoy the show in St Austell Market House

Hope you're enjoying a lazy start to the last bank holiday monday of the year!

We're open in St Austell Market House today, as well as other shops like 11 at The Market House.

I was due to be at an event today which has unfortunately fallen through very last minute.

I didn't have huge amounts of extra stuff made but we do have a bunch of extra cake cups now in stock in the cafe in St Austell Market House in St Austell Town.

So pop in today or tomorrow (we're open bank holiday Monday normal hours) and grab one of your favourite treats!

Other spare bits: quite a few sauage rolls, including vegan and GF, as well as some fresh truffle and sh*ttake mushroom focaccia, and some hot honey scotch eggs
