The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

And Saturday arrives and don’t I need it! Yesterday a whopping 64kgs were roasted and prepped for our partners alone. I started soon after 7am and finished around 6pm suggesting to Peter - fish n chips for dinner! (That’s a reward/treat in this family and isn’t taken that often!)

I also had a wonderful selection of customers dropping in, collecting orders, refilling their containers (the 10% discount returns!), tasting samples for home brewing…and not to mention this little one who kept lingering at my door! (Normally it’s a grey squirrel!)

So now it’s switching off for two days, enjoying time with Peter and Eliza (thanks to Eliza for dropping in to help mix and fill bags before her long day at work began).
Once again, we thank you for your support far and wide. It’s been a great week for sure and we have an extended partnership with Paul and Jules from The Cornish Pantry in St Ives who have just taken on HOST and consequently asked us to supply them with coffee.

A big shout out to Jason who visited on our behalf and provided support, though he felt very much as though the team already had the knowledge and experience to take things forward for their opening on 19th June!
