FILTRATION MYTH OF THE WEEK

MYTH: A water filter and a water softener do the same thing ❌

I can tell you that they don’t and choosing the wrong one could mean you’re not actually solving your problem.

A water softener is specifically designed to reduce the calcium and magnesium responsible for hard water and limescale.

A water filter is designed to reduce specific contaminants or unwanted substances - such as chlorine, sediment, tastes and odours.

The simple way to think about it:

1. Water softener = tackles water hardness
2. Water filter = tackles specific water quality issues

Understanding what’s actually in your water is the first step to choosing the right solution.

One of our core beliefs is that human contact is a necessity in our market. We use AI to help us do fantastic and complex things but when it comes to customer service, as summarised this month: "You're dealing with real technical people, not AI bots".
