It was definitely 'foal Friday' at Folland-Bowen Bloodstock with two new arrivals (they were kind enough to give us enough time for a tea break in-between)

This lovely lady is by Mehmas, out of Ruzma, so she's a full sister to Mishal Star. Very straightforward delivery and both mum and baby are happy and healthy

✨ Foal Interest – Due Early June ✨

Super Cob Mildred is due to foal in early June, and this is a combination we are genuinely excited about.

Mildred has been successfully shown and is a true all-rounder — quality, substance and the sort of temperament that makes life easy. She is the kind of horse you can trust with your children but she'll liven up under an established rider.

She is in foal to Multicolors Marvel an exceptional young stallion known for his athleticism, movement and eye-catching colour. He's progressing through the ranks and looks very special.

Colours this cross will produce:
• Buckskin
• Buckskin Tobiano
• Buckskin Pintaloosa

This foal is deliberately bred to combine ability, trainability and standout presence — suitable for showing, workers, grassroots competition or as a quality family all-rounder with that little bit extra.

Colostrum - Liquid gold 💛

Did you know foals are born with no immune protection?

Colostrum from the mare is loaded with antibodies that fight pathogens until the foal's own immune system matures. Colostrum needs to be consumed within the first 24hrs of birth. Failure to receive this colostrum leaves foals very vulnerable to infection.

At Folland-Bowen Bloodstock we test the mares colostrum quality when the foal is born. We then bottle feed the first feed (normally from the mare - unless we need to supplement with top quality colostrum) to ensure the foals get the initial colostrum early and allow the mares some time to recover from labour.
