These beautiful Shetland sheepskins are for sale at SJH Carpets in Tisbury High Street.
They are so soft & so luxurious. From Apshill & Mandeville coloured flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep.
Their names are:
Notting Hill. (Pale grey.)
Quest. (Flashy.)
Art Thou. (Fawn katmoget.)

Apshill & Mandeville flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep are growing well.
The four super tups mostly produced the colours as well as markings that we had hoped for.
The quality of their fleeces is hard to fault, most of them being a spinners delight as well as for general craft. Also most years our fleeces win overall fleece Championships at some of the agricultural shows which is always thrilling.

Apshill & Mandeville flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep finished lambing two weeks ago.
Using four tups we achieved the variety of colours with the quality of fleeces that we had hoped for.
The halter training of lambs will be happening very soon.
As often happens the ratio of ram to ewe lambs is close.

Apshill & Mandeville flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep.
The ewes are now amalgamated having taken the tups out & amalgamating them.
Though we usually leave the tups in for a lot longer if they are happy together, this can allow however for the occasional late lamb. This year we had our latest ever lambing with Mandeville Alexis producing a spectacular ewe lamb on 12th July.
We used four tups this time, a fawn gulmoget, a grey katmoget as well as two “flashy” ones.
There are requests for yet to be born lambs from certain tups.

The Apshill & Mandeville Shetland flocks started lambing early for us on 29th March with Apshill Rhyme & Reason finishing with a late, however lovely surprise on 12th July with Mandeville Annette.

Following an extended lambing season we are now appreciating & marvelling at the production of wonderful lambs from our Shetland ewes with their three chosen tups.
The tups are chosen according to the 1927 breed standard, plus outstanding fleece, colours, heads that we like & most importantly their temperaments.

Apshill & Mandeville flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep finished lambing yesterday. So we have our final count which we are very pleased with, the ratio of ewe to ram lambs being two in favour of the ram lambs.
Our three tups have provided us with a wonderful mix of colours which has not been I am pleased to say at the expense of quality fleeces.

The Apshill & Mandeville flocks of pedigree Shetland sheep are producing an amazing variety of colours of lambs from three tups. Both the tups & ewes have super temperaments, wonderful fleeces with a few short & a few longer, however mostly are a medium staple length which are soft & with crimp.
