I have been very quiet because I’ve been very busy!

The chicks aren’t chicks anymore and have grown so much! They are learning lots of new tricks and love cuddles especially coconut the c**k bird who will sit on my lap all day if he could.

The amount of chickens I have may have increased slightly having started off with 6 and now owning 36 but who’s counting 🤷‍♂️

Me and my sister may have added two gooslings to the family recently 🙈
They are very friendly at the moment and we spend time bonding with them each day in the hope that they stay friendly as they get older 🥰

Today my grandad cooked us a lovely dinner. The chickens didn’t quite understand the “ no hens at the table rule” and were quick to steal my salad.. and everyone else’s 🙈

You humans can’t leave yet! We want more food 🤪

On Saturday I moved the youngest silkie chicks into the big chick run. They love being outside even if their are some scary noises to get used too 💙

Our laying hens have also been busy. We delivered 84 eggs to people in Salisbury this weekend! I hope they all enjoy them 😋

It was a busy day for me today 💪

My older silkies are now ready to leave the stable!
So this morning I collected and painted their new coop which is where they will be kept over night to keep them safe.
I then filled their run with wood chip to keep things abit cleaner for them whilst everywhere is still muddy.
It won’t be long before they are old enough to free range like my other chickens but until then they have a nice new home.

Once that was done I took a rest in the hay crate. Can you spot the hen? They are never far from my side 🙈

This morning I moved the older silkies out of our house and to the yard.
They are 8 weeks old now so don’t need to be in the house anymore.
Whilst they get used to the big scary world their home will be inside the stable where they can still use their electric hen ( heater) if needed and where they are safe from predators. It won’t be long and they will be able to sleep in their very own coop!

Ps. Yes they did poo in the box in the car and that is why I’m covering my face 🤢😂

Within the next day or two some of our lambs will start to arrive so some of our sheep have started to make use of the sheep shed. The hens still haven’t learnt that not everything is for them! They’ve been nesting in the beds and stealing their food!

The sheep don’t seem to mind thankfully 🤣

The size difference is crazy. To think it was only a few weeks ago that the big chicks were this small!
They grow so fast.

The first of the 6 newest eggs to go in the incubator has just hatched!

I think he/she is telling their friends to hurry up and hatch 🐣

This one is black with a golden colour. I can’t wait to see what the others will look like.
