Part 2. You get what you pay for. It's relatively easy to see the difference between a cheap ribeye and one from a butcher 🥩

Whereas a glass of cheap red wine looks remarkably similar to a more expensive one. Lookout for "imported and bottled by" on the back label rather than simply "imported by". That tells you the wine is bulk shipped, likely to be higher in Sulphur Dixoide and more likely to make you feel none too clever in the morning 🍷🍷🍷

If in doubt, visit your local independent and take advantage of their (free) expert advice. Wine from convenience stores and supermarkets might cost less money but you could end up paying more later... with interest! 🤓

While Stark-Condé built its reputation on Cabernet Sauvignon, those paying close attention to the Jonkershoek Valley already know:

some of its most compelling wines are now white.

Home to Sadie’s iconic Mev. Kirsten Chenin vineyard, Jonkershoek is increasingly proving itself as one of the Cape’s great white wine terroirs.

The Monk Stone Chenin Blanc 2025 has just landed at Museum Wines with 96+ points from Greg Sherwood MW.

Exclusive to Museum Wines.

£29.99.

England finally gets its summer back this week.

So skip the supermarket rosé.

The Longridge The Emily Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Cuvée Classique was originally meant to become an MCC — but never underwent secondary fermentation, and proved too good to change.

The result is a refined, dry and dangerously drinkable rosé.

Named after Emily Hobhouse. Crafted with intent. Sourced with discernment.

£14.99 per bottle

“Hoendertande” means Chicken Teeth.

Something impossibly rare.

Which feels appropriate for a Grenache Noir recently crowned the 2026 Platter’s Wine Guide Best in Category — especially at £29.99.

Alongside it? A joyful old-vine Cinsault and a beautifully restrained Stellenbosch Cabernet from De Kleine Wijn Koöp.

Small production. Serious acclaim. Very limited availability.

10% off any 6 bottle order.

It’s Bordeaux En Primeur season.

While everyone else is buying wines to cellar for the next decade, we’re opening bottles that are already drinking beautifully now.

From the seductive elegance of Château Haut-Breton Larigaudière 2018 to the 95-point Le Créateur 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, these are the kinds of Bordeaux discoveries collectors quietly come back for again and again.

Because great Bordeaux shouldn’t always require a waitlist.

97 Points from Greg Sherwood MW.
Only 1,500 bottles produced worldwide.
Just 120 bottles allocated to the UK, exclusively through Museum Wines.

Beeslaar’s The Sacrament 2023 has rapidly become one of South Africa’s most sought-after modern reds, with collectors already scrambling to secure bottles after missing out on the maiden 2022 release.

At Tim Atkin MW’s Best of South Africa tasting this week, customers were placing orders directly from our website while standing at the stand, such was the urgency to secure stock before it disappears.

Now over half of our allocation has already sold.

A profoundly serious Stellenbosch Bordeaux blend from Abrie Beeslaar, awarded an unpublished 97-point rating by Greg Sherwood MW ahead of release.

This is not a wine that will sit around for long.
