An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Shop Assistant/Butchers Assistant. The position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in butchery.
Job Details
Full Time Position - 39.5 Hours Per Week.
Tuesday - Friday 8.30am-5pm
Saturday 8am-4pm
Salary - Dependent on Experience
We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and friendly Shop Assistant/Butchers Assistant to join the team.
This is a hands-on role in a busy butchers shop, working primarily front of house.
Duties will include:
-Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
-Assisting Customers with purchases and providing recommendations, Cooking Instructions etc.
-Cleaning and maintaining high hygiene standards
-Cash handling & Operating a POS system
-Production of Meat Products for retail: for eg Burgers, Meat Packs, Kebabs.
-Meat Preparation (Training will be provided)
-Supporting other areas of the business as needed
-The role involves physical work including regular loading & unloading of stock with weights of up to 25kg.
The ideal candidate will:
-Be friendly, positive, and approachable
-Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-Have good communication and teamwork skills
-Be reliable and punctual
-Previous experience working in a Butchers environment (desirable)
-Good understanding of working with weights and measures
-Have previous retail or customer service experience
-Hold a Food Hygiene certificate (preferred but not essential)
